Having spoke to another range rover enthusiast who is far more knowledgeable thank i, he believes that my intercooler has been uprated. since i have never seen a different one i have no basis to compare so i have included a pic.

also when we were talking i was saying how my 2.5DSE was fast and he suggested that it had been mapped/chipped. there is no chip added that i can see so im guessing it was mapped. basicly my jeep is fast and i assumed they all were

have you got a bosch ecu fitted,if yes they take out the old chip and solder in an uprated one so it looks standard.

The standard intercooler is about 7-8 inches deep. If yours is any different, then it could be. Any clues on the Back ie, Jeremy Fearne ?

Your intercooler does look different. Mines a std and the out let pipes are cast aluminium. Yours looks like they are fabricated. Not sure if that means uprated or not.
As to ECU it is mounted behind the battery the lid is held on by 2 cross head screws.

Hi, the top of my engine block looks like yours but my Intercooler is mounted behind the front passenger driving lamp!
Wot on earth is it doing there? An auto box cooler on drivers side I'd understand, or an uprated manual box cooler, but that's a very strange place for it, very limited airflow considering it's size.

Well that demonstrates my degree or retardedness, it is of course the cooler for the autobox, easy seeing I've never got 'down and dirty' with it. I know the shame of it.
