..... just finished making front bumper and mounting winch, had new glass cut for front doors and full windscreen, got wide wheels comming and hopefully a V8....hmmmmmm puuuuuurrrrrrrrrrr......

catch ya l8r ;)

Looks good. And here's me weighing up turning mine into a series lookalike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought of doing the same as you regards the stumpy snorkle but having it mounted on the bonnet and attached with a flexi hose, Is yours home made?

No is propper 1 its just that with it being kept in the garage and me liffting the suspension it wont fit in so had to remove roof and top of snorkle. not to convinced about the chuff off mushroom on the top when its fitted...... would much rather see bout getting a safari snorkle top to replace it with. will have to have a look on flebay....

Nice, I am in the process of undoing a number of bodges on my recently purchased S3 with V6 and defender front end.

Mine has been hand painted in a cheap alternative to Hammerite!!! it looks sooooo bad! whats the best way to strip it back? and what paint did you use to get the matt green nato look?

Thanks DB

Hi all, paint is standard nato paint.....put on using a foam roller from BNQ impressed with the finish I got ( Big thanks to my dad for giving me a lift )

Not too sure about the arches yet....Just bought some disco steel rims which im going to invert ( this will eleviate the issue of spacers as I will gain the extra width due to the inner of the wheel on the disco rims is closer to the edge of the wheel ) , will try to get some pics to show you what I mean.

Then seen some 285/75/16 GREENWAY MACHO 4x4 TYRES from Cheap Greenway 4 X 4 Tyres £62 each so gonna get some of them I think so will see what the arches look like when their fitted.

Checker plate was alredy in when I got it but was painted so I wire brushed them down and they now look like brand new.

With regards to the hammerite copy???? not too sure is it like shuts?? dependant on your space and how good you want it to look you could disc it down with a grinder and flat pad on it......just be carefull if your chassie is a bit worse for ware....

"You dont want to be creating any more holes" !!!!!

:D

Any1 got any how 2's on fittiing a V8 there seems to be nothing online or in the forum about it other than a couple of b4 and after pics.

My issue is with the engine mounts for mounting the engine to the chassie

Any info would be great guys n gals....

Also spoke to the supplier re the new tyres looks like its gonna have to be the 265/75/16's something about the 285/75/16 and my rims would fit but if I was to have an accident insurance company could be padantic and refuse to pay out, any1 else heard of this???? due to my rims being 7" wide and not the recomended 8" / 9". Cants see him not telling the truth as he would get more money out of me if I bought the 285's.

Let me know what u think

Gavin

New tyres came 2day. only ordered em yesterday n only £15.00 postage...Bargin

Nice deep tread, went for the 265/75/16's in the end beter to be legal and safe than risk not having the insurance pay out if I have a bump.
