Has it got to be the injectors?

As for the injectors, from 80,000 miles they really ought to be considered a service item, especially if a lot of supermarket fuel has been used, a nozzle that doesn't, spray properlyi create problems, nozzles that dribble tend to put holes in Pistons.

plus noticed on that injector site they sell a set of 4 x nozzles for £125 , td4

very cheap that's for sure and a lot cheaper than £400 for a set of recon injectors

don't know if by replacing the nozzles it makes the injectors brand new again ??
What injector site is that, Britpart :censored:.
That sounds cheap as chips

Thanks gstuart,
Look ok although wrong ones for mine. It seems like they don't cover many vehicles, which is odd.

I hadnt checked to be honest , but think ur right

maybe they've had them a while , see on other sites 4 x recon injectors are around £300 complete

am going to try one of these ultrasonic baths later on and see if it helps clean the injectors up

then just need an o ring set for around £20 quid ??

will take the engine rough running results off the hawkeye before and after ?? , to see if it makes any difference

i got my freelander and it had a misfire and the exact same symptoms. it would hunt at idle and would shake the whole car. felt like it was going blob, blob, blob. pretty annoying. it ran fine at higher revs but low down it was horrible, not to mention annoying. It annoyed me more than the roar coming from my rear diff :p in the end i took it into an injection specialist and sure enough, the injectors needed rebuilding. Not a cheap job. But now it runs so well and at 140,000 miles i suppose it could have been worse, and now i dont have to worry about them for a while and they have a warranty. Lots of the time having your existing injectors can work out much cheaper. Hope you have it sorted soon
