East midlands,
got disco 1 alloy on there rear drum braked defender, yes they do fit bar the centre cap before anyone says. i put one on and bolted it up.

i am after any piccys or downfalls of fitting em

As im sure has been said before... The only serious downside i have ever been told - never done it meself, is that the taper on the drum can force the recess on the back of the alloy, so stressing it and making it more liable to crack.

Oh yeah, make sure you have the correct wheel nuts too!

Alloys also are not as strong, so they are obviously not as good off road.

The taper on the drum is no where near the wheel ;)

Its more the astetics of fitting em, no worried about off road i know how ths set perform, also i have the wheel nuts of my disco :D

my landy garage has just put them alloys on a customers 90 and he ground back the inner taper of the alloy as if you bolt it on as is it doesnt sit flat against the drum and therefore isnt as strong as it could be.you will need the alloy wheel wheel nuts aswell not the standard nuts.
