Has anybody got a picture of the bonnet switch, or where it should be?

Hi

if you open the bonnet on the right hand side where the catch goes in thats where it is but you will need to unbolt the top metel cross section and remove the grill to get to it, very easy to job takes about 10 mins to get too.

good luck

Tony:)

Its a 1995 P38, i have bypassed the switch on the drivers side catch, but still getting " alarm triggered bonnet" message. J the range told me its inside a hole on the passanger side, and i think mines missing from there, has anybody got a picture of this? Thanks, Sam

The switch on the drivers side you have by-passed is the bonnet switch. If you have connected the two wires together that is why you are getting the message. When bonnet is shut they should be open circuit. If you have bridged plug bonnet will always show open.

I have bypassed it by cutting the connector off the switch, and taping both the wires up, therefore breaking the circuit. It doesnt show that the bonnet is open when drving or parked, but the alarm goes off after being parked for around 10 mins, with the message "alarm triggered bonnet". Thanks, Sam

Ok as long as the wires cannot touch each other that should be ok. I would think your problem is somewhere other than the switch circuit. The plug on my 99 was disconnected and gave no fault other than the bonnet open warning never appeared. I recently re-connected it and now when bonnet is open warning appears, and goes off when it's shut, so works as it should. The disconnected plug gave no alarm fault.

Oh ok, somebody told me theres another sensor on the passenger side but cant find anything. Just going to take it somewhere tommorow i think to be looked at properly, Thanks, Sam
