hardtop sides to short!?

Hi lady's, gentlemen and the rest,

I asked about this a while ago but i was confused about this extra panel on my hardtop sides on my 90.

So today i thought i would strip it apart and realised ( i believe ) this extra panel does not belong there as i look at pics n the sides are one panel to the doors! Its my first landy so i thought it was just normal but now i have removed it i realise its a mess! Basically the sides to the hardtop are about 3-4" to short of the front doors so it seems like they have put a extra panel of something which allows the door seals to go in. Are the series shorter or something and this is what has been put on for some stupid reason

I would add pics to show but it wont let me as i think the laptop has a virus!

Any knowledge would be great

given a series is 88" and a 90 is 92" what do you think

well seeing as its my 1st landy and i havnt gone around measuring the difference between 90s and series i think i shall let myself of

Thanks for the help though and jamesmartin that solved a problem now of to buy some proper sides, will i need a new roof to as the slop will be 4" further forward would it not?

You'll be able to pick a set up of fleabay for little money. I bet your shorter sides are from a 88 or 110csw. Put some piccies on.

i would put pics up but my laptop i riddled so i have some security thing it says! you can see a rather large photo on my profile of the part fron the outside. yeah i been looking for sides but need to try and find some local(ish).

It all looked ok from the ouside but once i investigated i found its a right bodge and im glad i did as its by the seatbelt mounts and tbh they would be as much use as a nuns tit!
