Hard start after cambelt and rockers change

Hello All,

I have just replaced all the rocker arms, shaft etc and cambelt to a new kit after a failure. The problem I am having is it is hard to start now and when its cold it doesnt have the usual diesel rattle, its sounds like the engine does when its warm, is this a timing issue or more tappet spacing?

More likely a timing issue, recheck pump timing and go over the tappets clearance,

If the cambelt has been done wrong it will be hard to start
