Keeps coming on when I navigate bumpy ground or go off Raod- I have checked the level of the Brake Fluid and it seem to be ok

Could this be a wiring problem - faulty switch perhaps and how do I get to it to sort it? seems to be burried under lots of centre consol - which looks a bugga to take out

Wiring probs could be, faulty switch, could be. But to get to the switch the centre console must be removed it's explained in the Haynes manual

Depending on which disco you have, it's only screws, clips and electrical connections.

I noticed this morning on my way into work- the light came on - I just tapped the handbrake and the light went off- looks like a faulty switch

can the wires just be removed from the switch or do they need to be joined together to remove this anoying light  not sure in what direction the switch operates :(

Perhaps I should have a new handbrake switch fitted or is this a DIY job???

Thanks

replacing the switch is childs play. All you have to do is remove the shroud and extract the clip that retains the clevis pin, then remove the pin and the handbrake will lift straight out. the switch is attached to the side of the lever
