Hi guys had the new head unit fitted and apart from needing to earth all the amps in the doors its sweet as.
But, cos I wanted the DVD to play whilst driving they had to make the handbrake light stay on.
And after a long motor way drive this weekend Iv found that the old girl wont drop down to the motor way ride height, is this cos of the handbrake light?

It is illegal to have the front DVD on whilst driving. Don't know but there maybe several things the vehicle won't do if it thinks the hand brake is on.

Hi,

Apologies that i've got no idea about your handbrake light question. But i'm very interested if you've got a head unit to work with the P38 system.

Is yours the HK system with an amp in each door, and if so any ideas how they piped your head unit in ? I've tried mine using the pre-amp outputs from my Sony head unit but it still doesn't work. Got a high pitch squeal and low volume. Did they earth the OE amps to the doors themselves ?

Thx and sorry again for the hijack of your thread !

I still have low volume and the squeal i bought a harness from nexxia.com which alowed me to keep the sub and the door speakers working, just need to earth all the door amps to the chassis is what ive been told not the doors, and see if that gets rid of the squeal.

It's just amazing how far some will go to replace a very good, if a little dated system, and try to intigrate it with more modern one's that are so obviously incompatable.

Especially as you can get the radio refurbished with an iPod jack for less than £150 - you can then watch the film on the iPod with the sound through the speakers - better still buy an iPad and blu tack it to the dash

True, but my Sony head unit will play music directly from my usb sticks.

Much better as I then don't have to buy an Ipod, just cheap and simple usb sticks, drag and drop files on the pc and away I go.

It also has built in bluetooth so that I can use it for hands free phone calls which is what I use it for mostly, and can even stream music that's stored on my phone if I wanted.

The P38 HK system is great, but I can't be dealing with cd's, tapes, and radio.

got myself a mp3 which plugs in the cigarette lighter socket its got built in fm transmitter just tune into freq on the hk system its great with sd and usb slot all for £8.00 from locall market trader selling computer gizmos.personally i think the hk rules.
