Hey Guys

Has anyone had issues with the handbrake on the P38?

Sometimes, I will release the handbrake, put it in drive, but it won't shift...the air suspension seems to activate and start levelling but it won't move.

Also, when the handbrake is released, it kind of jams, and I can't pull it back on again.

Any ideas?

Have not had this on a Rangie but have had it on a Disco. Hand brake cable has a plastic covering on it. If you have a bad chassis earth when you start engine some of current earths through hand brake cable and melts the plastic cable cover effectivly sticking it inside outer cable. That maybe your problem.

Oh Buggar.

Thats sounds like a bit of pain.

Only just finished spending a day fixing my no start problem! (turned out to be break in one of the ECU loom wires)

If it is that you will have to strip handbrake drum off to change cable you can service the handbrake internals at the same time. If the cable is just failing (Fraying for instance) you will still have to do that. If it has been caused by melting the cable cover, then you need to check and clean your main engine to chassis earth connections or your new cable will go the same way.
