Ok, why is it that it's the little things about a big job that do your head in?
Came to put the centre consol;e back on after fitting a new clutch, released the hand brake cable and pulled the lever all the way back, put the console in place and put the lever back down and that was it, the rachet paul was no longer engaging and the spring pressure was gone with a very stiff button. Didn't realise at the time that I had caused the damage.
Got a new handbrake lever from the scrapy, working perfectly until I did the same again, and now I have two lever with non-engaging pauls, no spring pressure and a button that is very stiff. Each time the pawl mechanism seemed to had flipped over and the operating rod had shifted downwards.
Long explanation, is this fixable or do I go to the scrapy again and be much more careful this time?
Thanks,
Steve

I've had to do it too...

Take the lever off and get it on the bench, take the button off and straighten out the rod that actuates on the ratchet.

Yep it's fixable!
