Hello All,

Im looking for advice and opinons please. I have a 96 P38 2.5 diesel manuel thats in nice nick and drives realy well,,, however. I find it very flat in the mid range ( 1,500 to 2,500 ) at the bottom end it pulls like a train and on a flat motorway gives a good 90+, but the slightest incline and it bleeds power like its throats cut and im having to drop 2 gears to keep it going over 30/40 mph.
Best way i can discribe it like riding a 2 stoke bike " you gots wring its neck"

I not too sure of how it should perform as my last Landy was a defender 200tdi, that was no sports car but did pull and pull and pull. Have to addmit im not impressed with " German engineering"

They ain't rocket ships but shudent be that bad, would make sure all basics are ok fuel filter, air filter etc also make sure fuel system not pulling air in

if its that bad, sounds like you've got no turbo boost. You could try disconnecting it at the manifold and see if it gets worse. If it doesn't, then you know where to look.

Cheers lads,

I shall be trying all those, the turbo sounds likely,, you could feel the turbo on my 200tdi but theres nothing from this one, think ill try that first

They are totally gutless below 2500rpm, that's normal. Fit a power box and just to be sure get the fault codes read:)
