Haha do I send pics just now or wait till its cleaned and polished!?

1250 is a great deal I think , as long as everything else is fine and its 'just" the welding in November's mot (unless I have underestimated the chassis cost at 800 to 1000!)

I drove 40 mins home on the motorway and it didn't miss a beat so fingers crossed

I'm just about to get insurance (I got 2 hour temp cover to drive home) and tax then go out for another wee drive!

Don't polish it, it's a feckin land rover :p

Chuck a bucket of water over it if you must then pics :D chassis aside, it'll need more maintenance than a normal car but if you get to know it and keep on top of things it should be very reliable as I'm sure @dieseldog69 will agree!

Re 70 feeling like 40, makes me wonder what you normally drive, but the height above the road tends to make it feel slower, also, for the same reason you can see further down the road which is great especially in the Dales! Far more comfortable a drive, when you can see over the brows of slight hills and over dry stone walls. They are comfortable things, especially with working ACE and aircon, and they are pretty quiet too. Not like a Defender, or an old Defender, or series. Enjoy it!

Thank you Mate

I just dived right in and bought it!

Having looked under it I'm convinced it will need chassis attention at next MOT, but I used that to get it down from 2000 to 1250, so I'm factoring in an expected welding cost of 800 to 1000 with the purchase price

Driving it home was so different to anything I've ever driven, I was sitting at 70 on the motorway but felt about 40! Is that just because I'm not used to such a big and heavy car?

You owe me a years wages :p

Welding aside it looks nice & you got it at a good price ;)
