GRRRRRR my 54 plate doesn't have difflock

Yer not far off ha...
I wanted a cheapish offroader that's quite capable of what ever I throw at it... looking back maybe a 300tdi would of been the better choice but I didn't want a rust bucket and I like the td5 engine!
Just looks like I need to spend quite a bit for it to be a good offroader!
I'm loving the room and comfort the disco has over the defender and a heater that works!

Well I think I've just had a right touch. Brought a TD5 autobox that I don't need... comes with a transfer with difflock and the genuine cable and selector for £150!!

Does it have the TC and if so what sort?

The last I heard it does have T/C, but the O/P isn't impressed or interested in it. Read back through the posts and you'll find that he's bought a Disco which he's trying to convert into a Series 1.
Apparently he likes the seats and the heater.

No need to get the hand bags out haha
I want a disco 2 for the look and enjoy it being a daily driver but also want it to be capable offroader!
In a ideal world I'd have two cars but I can't so want to do the best with what I've got

Which TC does your comment apply to @MJI ? Torque converter or Traction control. Just to avoid confusion.

You quoted a post about the auto box so could have meant torque converter, but the post is primarily about Centre Diff Lock.

standard or ashcroft torque converter

It didn't come with a torque converter unfortunately
