thanks for that... to ensure fair I can get a transfer box for £100.... so I may buy it then just swap the front cover part over with the gubbins rather then the whole transfer. Thanks for all the info over the last few days it's been very helpfulThe fitment of a CDL, seems to be one of the great urban myths of D2 ownership........... Amazing how many times on the social media pages you see people swearing the original D2's were all fitted, then all facelifts had them , then only early facelifts and so it goes on etc etc.....only way I know to check is either the TB serial number or actually checking the top of the box for the spigot. Unless someone can come up with a definitive VIN number lisiting showing a group of vehicles had CDL. Any other way is not going to guarantee that it is fitted. As an example, my 53 plate, does not have the CDL, but inside it does have the sticker showing the CDL movement on the transfer box.....Have to love LR.

Well it didn't for me yesterday at my local pay and play! To be fair was more annoying the abs and traction kicking inMany of those who know will tell you that the Traction Control system fitted to the Disco 2 can get you out of trouble just as easily.
I am very disappointed and upset to know my 2004 54 plate doesn't have difflock!! What the HELL?
Also my transfer box number starts 69? Though they were 41/42?
Should have purchased an ES Premium it was standard for them in 2004, but a £270 option for the likes of Pursuit and Landmark.
2003MY it was standard for the ES but an option for the likes of GS and XS.
2002MY diff lock was an option for all models.
I had the use of one or the other for a day as a courtesy car when my disco was in for its annual service, so a good opportunity to check them out, loads of things on a D2 that I'd never use, so didn't buy one.![]()
