Hi all as title says really,
I have a grinding/rubbing noise whilst on full lock, it is NOT the tyres rubbing.

The truck was off the road a week.
In that time i went from a 19j to a disco 200tdi and i also put a 2"inch lift on the truck.
I dont recall hearing the grinding at 1st. Although i was more amused at how much better it was with the new engine!

Could it be the props or something?
Im only getting to know all the names of the parts and components etc.

Thanks in advance.

Graham

Also.. I did a search, nothing that sounded like my symtoms!

You only really get the full lock when the vehicle is moving as the extra forces of the vehicle force the wheels around that extra little bit, mine dont rub at a standstill but do at slow shunting speeds.

Thanks lynall.
Im going to investigate further.

How would one check the CV's, they are pretty buried in the construction of the steering.
And everything is so bloody heavy to just
Give it a wiggle!

Wheel off, calliper off, hub off, then stub axle off, loads of grey goo on the floor and you can now get the shaft and cv out, not hard just messy!
You will probably find wheel bearings worn, all seals need doing.
