Hello all,
My Name is Alex but the other half gave me the nik name Alfie he says its a term of endearment but thinking back he use to watch Alf that comedy programme with the puppet Alien Life Form... and I wonder if its connected!?
I have in the past driven a Discovery and a Freelander... I looked on in disbelief at the other halfs Series II and didn't have the guts to try it! plus a few other cars in between... generally hand me downs from the other half who loves cars and motor bikes... I am a late bloomer in the driving front and only passed my test in 2003 so I am enjoying my evolving driving experiences and always pushing myself to try something new..and after trying 9 different cars of various flavours I have purchased a 90 and I have my name on the log book and everything...
Once I have replaced a couple of doors, the wing mirrors and fitted a kenlow fan (even with my minimal engine knowhow I realised there shouldn't be a big gap at the front of the engine bay! other half has suggested a Kenlow, any other suggestions greatly appreciated!) I will be terrorising the neighbourhood spreading smoke and landy love around my patch of Somerset...!
There are many more things that need doing like a roof lining repair and the rubber seals around the windows and I will eventually fit a roof rack plus I think that there may be an issue with a front bearing but these are all the pleasures of being a Landy owner and I am fairly sure that they will be cheaper to repair that any of my previous cars... and to top it all off my mum thinks its a heap and can't believe that I am going to drive it... which makes it worthy of all the tlc I can afford! lol
I will be asking some newbie (duh ... thats so obvious!) questions and all I ask is that you are as kind and patient as you can possibly be...
cheers Alex
