Hi-ho,

Quick intro from me. Recently bought a 1974 109 Safari which will eventually wend its way to live with my sister in the Italian hills. Needs some remedial work on it so might be popping by for some advice since I'm new to them (had plenty of oil on my hands from other cars though so not deterred).

Current to-do list includes carb (Stromberg CD175) fix, fix rusted window runners, fix seats, retro-fit seat belts. And other stuff.
Previous owner brush-painted it with cream Hammerite - is that a thing?!

Here's a pic of the beast. 2.6L petrol 🥵.

Hello and welcome. Make sure you have lots of layers of security, you're in a hotspot unfortunately. Good luck with the to-do list.

@NorfolkBird I reckon they'd be out of fuel before they reached the end of the road :D
Do people really steal these things? Brave if so, it's not like they can outrun the cops or drive them stealthily...

Hi and welcome!

Very nice looking Landy! As mentioned, make sure security is up to scratch. They do get nicked. Not for a chase with the Po-Po but either to break for parts or sold on abroad via shipping containers.

Nice to see an original looking Landy without lots of stuff bolted on though. 😎
