Greetings from N.Ireland! Some advice needed...

Good Afternoon Everyone!
I am new to all of this and I must say it is great to be on the forum! The time has come and I am looking to finally become an owner of my own Landy after a lot of reading and soul searching... I have been hooked for a very long time with family members owning Defenders and Discoverys over the years, there is nothing else like them to grow up around (addiction starts early eh?)

Anyways, after renting a V8 Disco 3 in the US I’ve decided its time to have a Land Rover in my driveway, particularly given the condition of roads around where I live for the 40 mile commute! I’ve been looking at a lot of Discovery 3/4 and FFRR TDV8 listings and I need some pointers and advice for what to look for! Any help would be appreciated, links to threads and insight from owners would be amazing!

I would have around £15k to spend, so in N.Ireland the market would be mostly 100k+ mileage examples. I can send some links to a few I am expecting to view in the coming few days / weeks if it helps!

This is my kind of asylum, thank you for the warm welcome! I will give your guide a full read and I’ll fire whatever questions your way, really appreciate the heads up! Was looking at an XS trim and the insurance quote was on the much thicker side of acceptable... maybe this is an asylum after all :D Thanks again @gstuart I’ll keep you posted!

Absolutely, it is brilliant how these vehicles can bring so many people together! It is passion for sure, I will keep you posted on everything! Would you have any links to forums or threads on the 4.4 V8 Discovery vs TDV6? I’ve been reading a couple but would love your take on it, or some pointers! I had rented a petrol disco 3 on Turo when I was in the states and it is what got me hooked!

Seems the V8 manuals are getting more sort after , hope it helps
