GRANBY FARM ... off roading.

Was thinking that myself tbh!

Will put it off 'till the weekend after, when I will no doubt be cleaning ample amounts of mud out of the hand brake drum anyway :D

Looks like my other half will be coming along too (same vehicle), as long as nobody minds.

Of course she can come ... quite a few come along to keep their eyes on their men ;)

Well Sam has been off roading with me for as long as we've been together, and she is as much of a die hard LR fan (and owner) as I am.

She's a learner driver, but has inherited my old Discovery TDI, which is her incentive to pass.

That and I do also suspect she wants to keep me in check!

Good to hear ... and of course you'll be letting her drive yours through the mud a few times ;)

If theres anyone who wants to take my place, they're welcome to, the retest is booked for next monday cause he was too busy to do it this week

Wouldn't mind putting my name down for it to make the numbers up if I can Andy. Will say though I am new to this and little experience off roading but willing to learn, so take this into account before you say yes. BD and Doris can advise you better about me, just don't believe what they say unless its all good of course. They have seen my 90 so know if its suitable for the ground or not. No CB yet though, and tips on what kit I should bring would be welcomed.

Fine with me Noel ... you will need mud tyres though for starters along with a sense of humour, sandwiches and a flask ;) A CB isn't too important, it's more of a necessity when green laning. I'll add your name but please bear in mind that it won't be confirmed until Wednesday evening after we've checked with the venue. :)

Thanks Andy, qualify on all the above criteria, no winches though. The truck is probably more capable than me at the momment. Steve has seen the truck so I will check with him on anything I may be missing.

Just dont want to turn up like the idiot that wants to climb snowdon in shorts and a tee shirt in the middle of winter and ruins everyone elses day

:) No worries Noel, we're all there to help each other if needs be.

Have to say that with today and tomorrow having heavy rain forecast the land owner may decide it's too wet but we'll see when I speak to him tomorrow.
Look forward to meeting you, hopefully this Sunday.

Hi All

I have phoned Granby farm and he says at this present time its too wet but if there is no rain in the next 36 hours (none predicted) then its got a good chance it will have dried out a bit and may be on.
I will phone him thursday afternoon to confirm either way.

I think we should arrange a back up plan so that if it is off we could still go local green laning or try Witley pay & play around north worcester if anyone knows where that is & if thats open?

Cheers
Mark

Right chaps ... I have spoken to Charlie the Land Owner this morning and he has said that it is extremely wet on site. He has asked me to call back tomorrow afternoon and he will make a definite decision then. The good news is that there is no more rain forecast before Sunday and I'm hoping this works in our favour ... watch this space

Can I just ask whether anyone else from this group has called him as he said someone else had just phoned and didn't know if it was one of us? I didn't know if there was another group planning on going too

I'm a drop out an orl now! Sorry.

Don't get back from work until the early hours on Sunday.

If its laning though and ur meeting at say 10 ish I might be game. :D

A Ha ... it was you Mark ... coolio, I'll leave it with you to call him tomorrow then ... can you tell him there will be about ten of us ... Ta mate. :p

Ok I will phone him, I have also told him there is around ten of us,
