Hi all our 2004 freelander Td4 we just bought has failed big time with engine failure and the car yard purchased from said bad luck no warranty so now we are up for $5000 to replace it. My question is how hard are these engines to get in and out of the car. I only work on Mack Trucks so this is more compact. Cheers for any ideas. Rob M

See a lawyer or trading standards (or whatever passes for trading standards where you are)

how long ago did you purchase, you dont say? for all we know, you could have had it since new

not any harder particularly than any other car, only it comes out the bottom not the top. there is a thread on here about getting it out by using an engine crane and pallets, do a search and it'll turn up somewhere on this forum.

I remember your previous post, it started knocking on the journey home after buying it. You certainly have been shafted, big time!

As already suggested get some legal advice before you touch it, there must be some legislation for cases like this. Over here all car sales now have to include a basic 3 month warranty to cover such events.
