Heres a few more photos - Firstly a few my Mrs took on the day I picked out my 110. Didnt know she took these. Lines of old 110 defenders looking for new homes

Also after driving about 250 miles this weekend in it after the engine conversion I have decided that the next purchase for it will be a new transfer box! With the 1.6 transfer box it maxes out at 70mph on the flat. (according to sat nav not speedo). I drove all the way back along the motorway at 60mph (my normal motorway speed in a Land Rover). Thinking ill opt for a 1.4 so I dont feel like im pushing it too hard at 60-65 ish. The engine pulls like a train. Loads of power all through the gears.

looks nice in the last photo you took. I wish we had that number of 110s sitting around over here for sale

To be honest its a discrace that the MOD are making so many cut backs and getting rid of so much perfectly serviceable equipment like this :( They have rows of land rovers that have just been upgraded by the MOD apparently at a cost of 12k each that are being sold for a massive loss.

Right, Now i'm interested.

What do they mean by upgraded? Engines, Chassis etc etc???

Can't see anything on the Withams site. There are some from £2.5k and a set from £5k+

Ah, Right, I get you!

Ideally i'm looking around £3k for a 200tdi or early 300tdi currently, Maybe for the next one... I currently have 2 motorbikes, and a Volvo S40 Sport, The Mrs doesn't currently drive so having another expensive vehicle, tax, insurance fueling etc, just for "me" to use is a bit greedy! :D

Its been nearly 2 months now with the 200tdi and its still running smoothly. Only problem so far was me blowing the intercooler hose off on the motorway. Anyway ive decided to fit a 1.2 disco transfer box as the 1.6 is geared too low for my driving style. Just waiting to find a good one for the conversion.

Fitted a couple of new things today -

Firstly a new window wiper stalk as the old one suddenly started crunching badly and stopped working. Also fitted a 2kg powder fire extinguisher (ex mod). Fitted to the standard location.

Next up ive fitted (nearly finished) a Rad Haz kit. Bought on eBay a few weeks back. Hopefully this will reduce a little road noise (also going to buy a exmoor trim rubber mat kit for front and back at some point). Hopefully it will keep it a little warmer too in the winter.

Fit seems ok - Just need to buy some zip ties and bungee cord to tighten it up a bit. Needs to be strapped down at the bottom edges in the back.

That rad haz kit looks awesome, wonder how much of a difference it will make to insulation and warmth in the cab?

Sweet thread, what's next on the upgrades list? :D

Not sure what else. Definitely going to get a disco transfer box and full exmoor trim acoustic matting in Feb. Then I'll keep my eye out for a wolf steering guard. Don't think it needs anything then until a full respray in the summer if my dad gets his workshop built in time.
