Good place to buy paint anyone?

After buying a compressor and a spray gun I am now about to embark on my very first respray.

Can anyone recommend a good paint and a good place to buy it?
And can anyone give me an idea of how much thinners and lacquer i will need for my 110 please.

I highly recommend Industrial & Marine Trade Paints from the UK's No1 On-line Paint Store.. These guys were great.

I managed to track down the right colour for my 90 here Ivory White Paint 1L Tin suitable for Land Rover for Land Rover | S.13930 | Malpasonline.co.uk It's intended for tractors and suchlike so should be fairly hardwearing and can be applied by brush/roller or spray

Have also used above paint on my landy found to be hard wearing [needs a few days to harden fully] and keeps a good shine.

Is lacquer a necessity? If so how much dya reckon I'll need

Lacquer not needed as it's a synthetic enamel.

try Paint Man synthetic & classic paints,, www.paintman.co.uk on 01777 710100. I phoned them asking questions, and they were very helpful, with a fast delivery to.

I'd recommend avoiding synthetic (alkyd) enamel.it is a very outdated paint, horribly slow to dry (weeks before mine resisted fingernail marks) - so rubbing down between coats takes days, eventually very hard to the point where it chips easily and perhaps worst of all, I've been led to believe it doesn't take to being machine polished. (Haven't risked polishing mine yet).

I very much wish I'd paid more and chosen something better.

I used a local paint shop for mine. I'm sure you could find one locally who will advise and mix the right colours

Depends what you want, Iv used some one part urethane from trade paints which has been good. Drying time similar to cellulose and you can leave the mix in a paint pot as its not catalysed which is handy if you dont have time to get all the work you want done at once.

2k all the way for paint that's what I used for my first respray was spot on.
