Yeah me too, I think i may have possibly caught someone checking out my range rover the other night i came home and noticed a guy at the end of the road i live on and when i pulled on my drive another guy was near my back door when i approached him he said he was looking for his dog but i think he was up to no good and the other guy was a possible look out, but i cant prove anything.
Police did nothing as normal when i called, they said theyd call me back and as yet i havent heard a thing from them.

nice one! found two blokes staking out our farm track! watched them on cctv 3 nights in a row. they'd turn up around 3.30am and just sit in the layby at the end of the track for hours. i thought it was abit late for the obvious;P then saw them next day parked bit further up the road around 5pm. that night like clock work they turned up and so did the police! apparently they breathilised them and recorded some details and they havent they haven't been back since!

Nice one im looking into cctv at the moment to cover the area where mine is parked, and just for info was talking to a copper whilst i was out yesterday and he said to me that what theives are also doing is taking photos of the landys and stuff before they steal them so they can sell them prior the theft so they get part payment up front, in a way there forming there own sales catologue and stealing to order.
On a plus side the company i work for has a shed load of smart water and my boss has given me loads so im quite lucky really in that respect.

We have CCTV and CCTV is all good and well but in all honesty the police have never seemed that bothered by us having CCTV. One time a copper told us we would be better spending our money and finishing our extension than on the CCTV which they had come round to view because we had our stereo nicked out of the landrover a few years back!!
They were more bothered this time our landrover got nicked because they were also chasing a vitara which they didnt know what it was up to.(nicking ours thats what it was up to and the CCTV showed that perfectly) The vitara was on false plates etc and they didnt like the fact that it got away and it was an unknown. Once they got the vitara a week later thats it - heard nowt.
The other times it was handy to see what various scrotes were up to and what times they did whatever but as far as ID purposes unless the camera is a very high quality and nearer to ground level (where it is more likely it can be tampered with) it is very difficult to get a good ID.
It may be that ours is getting out of date and there are better resolutions available now.
Dont get me wrong our CCTV has been worth its weight especially when vans knock our posts down and drive off!

One idea my mate has done is fit pressure pads under the floor mats which activate a wireless signal to an alarm in the house it works really well he bought the pressure pads from Maplins and a wireless alarm somewhere off the net and the pads run off pp3 9v btys pretty cool idea i thought.

Here is the article that was in the paper the other day which i mentioned at the start of this post.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing vehicles after the South Yorkshire Police helicopter picked up a tracker signal being emitted by a stolen car in Rotherham.
When officers went to investigate on Tuesday they found the Land Rover, which had been stolen from Derbyshire the night before, on the driveway of a house on Church Street, Wales, near Sheffield.

Two other Land Rovers, stolen from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, were also found at the address along with a stolen motorbike.
