What im trying todo this weekend is change the clevis on my low / high range selector to the transfer. But what I cant find is how to adjust it correctly. I can fit it but not sure how to set the throw. Picture of broken clevis to be replaced with new shiny one.

Welcome to LZ! :)

Cant you just set it up as it was? Assuming it was working correctly, if you measure or count the threads on the rod, it should be the same.

This sounds like a plan. But getting it back in high range from low was allways tricky it would bang back out. This being the cause of the brakadge. But going into low range was always easy.

OK, sounds like you need to assemble it as before, and a slight adjustment in the direction of high range.

Thanks im getting the picture it maybe trail and error. Thanks for replying this has given me a bit more confidents to just give it a go. Im hope it was bad because the clevis was slowly banding and stapping for a while now. Il set it the same then go from there.

It could be just wear in the pins in the linkage, try changing them, they are only pennies.

It is pretty straightforward, although fiddly. Adjust one way puts you more firmly into high range, adjust the other puts you more firmly into low range. Try and preserve the original settings as a reference, so you can start again if it all goes tits up.

Hi ibe just changed the clevis. I had to remove the transfer mechanism hosing, to remove pins. I found it was very stiff so I vleaned it and lubricated it. Seems much better. It seems to work. But yet to try it on the road just backwards and forwards on the drive seems to change ok. With a gental hand.

My next question is about the gear shift stick and range selector. Should they ne filled with out because mine seems to be brimmbed with oil. To my surprise. Fort I would change the plastic cup thing.
