Knowing Martyn I would hazard a guess he is at Biling, sipping a Pims with
the laptop doing it's stuff. A case of Gone but still here.

I wish I could live up to these expectations...

Sadly, 30 miles down the M1 things changed for the worse...

Making an unexpected appearance on the hard shoulder...

by 23.00 we were back in Sheffield.

Yesterday was spent stripping the transfer box, I'm just off to get
some thrust washers before rebuilding it (again), then maybe, just
maybe, we'll be orft agin by early afternoon...

One way or another we'll be at Billing - even if I have to go out and
buy a caravan to tow behind the Disco!

At present, the 'fan' bit of alt.fan.landrover is something of a sore
point

:-(

Ah well...look on the bright side... saving a fortune in Pimms! And if all
else fails you can go for mass consumption.

Weather looks a bit pants here anyway.... rain .. rain and more rain.. At
least it should be dry under Grumble.

Good luck with it.

Were still waiting on Mrs D's new toy so the Jury is out on if we will
attend or not more influenced by the weather at the mo.

Kevin (6x6 chap) is here, Warren coming soon...

We've stripped (like you'd not believe) everything, cleaned it all -
sooo much fur and ex-thrust washers, new (totally different)
intermediate gear kit going in - without any thrust washers (Nick,
I'll let you know in an hour or so if this works!). Just need to
finish cleaning centre diff, then put front and back housings on,
double check everything, fill with oil and...

....test!

However, before then (now actually), a well deserved coffee break!
(WEll, summat gotta wash the Gunk off mi throat)...

Keep an eye on Kevin... if left alone with grumble you may go back out to
find that caravan you were considering riveted to the back along with an
extra axle or two. Whats he tinkering with these days?

Oh, bad luck. I must admit the weather is keeping me guessing here,
It's been horrid the last few days. However, I have a pressing need
for several parts for a rebuild project, so l'll probably go sunday.

If you go make sure you wear really comfy shoes. Its a long way round.

Just got back with most of the bits we wanted. Saw the purple 101 and owner
on way down one isle with plans to stop and say hello on way back up the
other side, but by the time we got there he'd disappeared. Will have to
visit at the Peterborough Show in September.

He'd be chasing up a lead on some cheap swafega at a guess.. ;-)

Sugar and fairy liquid works a treat in an emergency too...

.... I should add... on the hands not in the tea.
