Glow plugs

Glow plug light only comes on now and then . Any ideas

I had an idea for a cat repellant bin bag once. Any good ?

Does it start OK?

Coolant sensor, bad connections, glowplug relay for starters.

It does of course only come on with the engine cold.

Sometimes starts on the button . Then without warning just keeps turning over . :confused2:

Hot or cold? Hot start problems are well documented. If the fault is intermittant on a cold engine, check the temp sensor and the voltage on the glowplugs, it could be the glowplug relay.

Good idea to get the fault codes read.

Just tried it cold , Started first time. Starting to think its hot start problem ive been reading about.

Where is the glow plug relay ?

In the box behind the battery attached to the engine ECU.
