Hi having issues with glow plug wiring on a 300 tdi engine mix and match loom td5 seatbox Tdci bulkhead It's a right mess. Been putting in td5 clocks and I couldn't figure out glow plug warning light. After looking for the glowplug relay I couldn't find it. But it did find the WR ignition wire spliced to a YB glowplug wire. No relay
From there some more splices. Anyone know how I can ammend this and put the relay and warning light wire in? I think the brown orange that goes to a 60A fuse then towards a relay junction that isn't connected is what's supposed to be the glowplug relay?

There should be a thin(ish) yellow/brown bit of wire sticking around somewhere, which is connected to the heavy yellow/brown feeder to the glowplugs.
I put a 7sec timer relay on mine and that did the trick!

In that case, run one from behind the binnacle, through the bulkhead and join it onto the big bit of cable that goes to the plugs.:cool:

That will solve the warning light issue by is it okay for the plugs to be ran straight off the ignition?? Arnt they meant to be timed for a reason

They take a lot of power, and for that reason alone I would fit a relay.
As I'e already said, mine is a 7 sec timer relay, and she starts first time every time.

:cool:Stupid thing won't let me delete smileys, I found a decent diagram and I think I know where it was supposed to go, gana try fit a relay next week. Will it be okay with spade crimps? Can't find those multi connectors that they use in main wiring
