Glow plug wireing

Hi guy's
After a bit of help here. Im needing to fit a new wire from switch to glow plug. Basically the switch wire connects to the glow plug nearest the bulkhead, im a bit puzzled as looking online its showing that the last plug (nearer the radiator) also has a wire that is grounded. I must say that I've never had that fitted before. Engine is 2.5n/a. Any advise would be a massive help. Cheers

The wire i have goes straight to a switch on dash then to positive on battery

I would expect the glow plug circuit to go through a relay. Does yours not??

To be honest I'm not sure,

Older vehicles dont.

Think engines from late 80s defender

200tdi was the first to get a relay.
It's easy to fit a relay to earlier models, takes the load off the switch and wiring too.
