And does the discovery 3 not have a TDV6 ?

D3 has 2.7LV6 doozle (most popular) or the 4.0L V8 petrol or 4.4L V8 petrol me thinks

take ur pick :D but im sure theres some genius on here that could transplant a TD5 into the Disco 3 ;)

Hi and welcome! I own and drive a D3, a wonderful vehicle, but please take someone with you who knows about them, and enjoy!:):welcome2::tea:

Interesting reading!!

Thank you very much to those who have posted useful comments. I will look into the things suggested.

To the other posts, I had assumed that being on a forum you were interested in Land Rovers and therefore would be happy to help me out.

Oh yeah we is interested in Landies, but also taking the p*$$ out of owners of different models (just visit the Freelander section )

Fair play lass, that at least you posted in the Intro section first, though a search as above reveals the buying guide you saw linked.

I've heard recommended that the D3 should have both(?) belts changed from 80,000miles. The issue is that the engine is supposed to be removed to do so, but isn't the huge issue as for others as it's been designed to do so. That said, LR dealers will change a fortune! I have also heard that the belts can be changed without removal of engine.

I'd pay for a AA/RAC check up first personally.

Land Rovers are quite a broad church, and there is some rivalry and banter between models and ages of vehicle. Look at the fred, I would just like to say, in Defender90/110/130 forum, and you will see.
Look on the bright side, you have had a very good response to your intro, I don't think anyone replied to mine at all! :(
If you bear with it, you will find a great knowledge and experience of all lr vehicles, but it sometimes takes a while until the people in your special area of interest come online.

Not quote the point I was making :p but yes the merkin is wrong again :D

I've never understood sarcasm :p

Helen!

Best thing for you is to go on the disco section, make a new post/thread saying *owning a disco 3* (or something like that) then ask in the thread everything you want to know :) there's plenty of disco 3 owners who will be happy to help :)
