theres probly an answer on here somewhere but i cant find it. my 99 2door freelander 1 has ghosts in the rear window electrics, open the car with the fob, get in and start the car and suddenly the back door window goes down (all the way), ive owned this rig 2 weeks and its done it twice.:confused::confused:

It probably thinks the roof has been taken off if the switch sensing the roof is fitted is broken. That makes the tailgate window drop. Switch is located on the right hand side of the roof bit that comes off.

Cheers: sometimes a person cant find the answer. So they need to ask. I,ll cheek that switch, althouh it doesn't do it all the time.

my money's on a failing battery. takes so much out of it to start the voltage dips enough so the ecu thinks it's disconnected then it fires so the alternator raises the voltage and the ecu thinks it's reconnected so drops the rear window.
