Hi all. Can anyone recommend a good place to get my s3 gearbox fixed (broken tooth) and reconditioned in the Yorkshire area? Cheers, Gareth

You could try and do it yourself dude, Mine (S2a)was jumping out of 3rd constantly and in the end I just decided to try it myself working through it step by step in the book and 3 yrs later it's still good ( apart from the trans oil seal leak that I am now doing :().
You will get so much more satisfaction out of doing it yourself, but if you got kids don't let them near the cogs as my eldest who was 5 at the time decided to roll a few of them down the hill while i was making tea and spent a good part of afternoon hunting for them in the bracken:mad:....

You could try Rimmer bros, Maddison 4x4 or that place over Rochdale way that do a part-ex recon fitting service (saw it in one of the LR mags).

Cheers gents. Me and my dad (my dad mostly) have had a go at it. All going well. Next job is to put some new synchro springs in. I've got them, but they are a bit fiddly. My dad is losing his temper as we speak....any advice/tips on how to get the damn things in?

Cheers
