Looking for genuine landrover front pads for my 2004 Defender 90 TD5, anyone know a good supplier where they are a reasonable price, I know, I know but I like to keep my Defender original and as the original pads have lasted over 40k miles and still have life in them I dont want any other make. I also only use genuine filters.
Thanks in advance.

Price, they talk telephone numbers,

Not all. I was gobsmacked to get some original parts for my Disco 300 cheaper at the stealers than at Paddocks ... Though that was a couple of years ago .. ;)

I usually try my local dealer after I get a price elsewhere to see if they match it, like you I have had the odd thing after haggling some discount, FPR was same price as on ebay, but other things have made my eyes bleed. I am sure it depends on who's on the desk at the time in my dealership. At the end of the day if there is little in the price I go to my dealership and if the front pads end up costing £80 or so its only every 14 years if they last as long as my originals.

Thanks for that Stuart, but I would like to keep to original landrover parts.

Hi

Indeed saw u wanted genuine and I thought Delphi parts were genuine Land Rover parts

But the guys here will of course be able to verify if that’s 100% or not

Apologises if there not ;):D

Hi Paul

May i ask are Delphi parts genuine items for the defender brake parts please , i always assumed they were but know u would know for sure

Thks buddy

They are a very good make but not sure if they have the thin rubber type backing the Landrover pads have. I am a bit fussy and like to keep all the service parts and consumables original with the Landrover name on them.

I’m the same , like things done just so and high quality parts , always best to be fussy especially when it comes to brakes :D

Indeed hopefully someone will be able to confirm that 100%

Funny enough i also prefer using ceramic grease instead of coppaslip

May i ask what kind of price are u getting for a genuine front disc plse , think there around £60 each arnt they ??

I know it is hit and miss and depends on what is around but try ebay. The last set of genuine fronts and rears I got for the 110 came from ebay, and I have previously had a genuine set of Jag rears as well. You get dealers selling off old stock, bankruptcy sales, and enthusiasts which no longer have the vehicle so it is always worth a quick look.

Edit:
Just had a look and cannot see any fronts but have rears (link) which are considerably cheaper than craddocks (link)

Thanks, I keep looking on there, as you say the rear pads are there but not the fronts at the moment, Rimmer Bro's have them in at £74 + £8 postage. I suspect main dealer will be about the same.

Rimmer Bro's are £131.47 + £9.95 postage for a pair of genuine landrover front vented discs, (mine are vented).

I am not sure genuine disks are necessary. I agree with you about the pads and fit genuine to mine, but as long as it is running true a brake disc is a brake disc. Although mine are not vented so are just chunks of solid metal, I do not know if the same holds true for a vented disc..
