So, this weekend I tried to get my series 2a going down the road. But I couldn’t get it in gear. I had it on 4 Jack stands. Put it in gear, which it seemed to go, and the wheels didn’t drive. They were still free wheeling (I could turn them by hand. I also made sure the transfer box was in 2 high. Finally …it was a bit odd as the clutch pedal depresses only 1/2 inch. Very solid. Any suggestions?
.

Up on stands even in gear wheels will still turn because diffs will be doing their thing.
It will not go into gear because the clutch is not working. As pedal is not going down there is a good chance the problem is with the clutch master cylinder, pipework, slave cylinder. Can be issue with clutch itself.
First shine a light into the reservoir [ middle bit ] and see what fluid looks like, black is bad.
You could release the output pipe from clutch master and see if pedal goes down. Fluid will be lost, something to mop spill and fresh fluid to replace loss.
Knowing your level of skill in mechanics would help us advise.

I think it is the clutch pedal. We bleed the clutch system a month ago and seemed fine after that. Came back a week later and the pedal is now rock hard.

Been blead of late so that is good. Try the release the pipe thing and if pedal goes down good.
Next is to remove gear tunnel and have a look at what is going on with the slave cylinder. when you get that far come back.

I had this problem before. One of the pins in the release mechanism cross shaft had sheared (it wasn't the proper part, just a bolt) and the piston in the slave cylinder had reached the circlip at the end of the bore. So no clutch release and a rock hard pedal.
Slide underneath the vehicle to inspect. No need to pull up floor just yet.
