eBay £30 for a duffer then rebuild it yourself.

Only thing about getting the other unit to work on, is if you can still use your current gearbox then it gives you a little time to play with.

not entirely, but its getting VERY close to me having to push it outta parking spaces - i want it fixed before i have to drive 300 miles home in it on christmas eve, as i can't imagine recovery will be particularly good that time of year..!

You staying at home for the holidays?

Do you have somewhere to work on it there?

Why don't you take it out on Monday - breakdown (do something that the guy won't find or fix) and get it taken home then. Then you have all christmas to work on it!
