Gearbox

Hello,

I am a new member I bought a 1980 series III SWB late last year. Basically its fine.

There is one issue I have not sorted and hear different solutions for. 2nd gear is sometimes quiet and other times rowdy. I have been told that the detent spring may be the cause, it does not jump out of gear or baulk so I assume sycro's are ok. All other gears work as they should. Advise appreciated.

Silly question but have you checked the oil level init?

Not for a couple of months, will have a look in the light tomorrow
