Manual or Auto? Petrol or diesel? 4.0 or 4.6?

Both boxes take ATF anyway, it just depends on which engine you have.

Transfer box 4 pints ATF
Front and rear diff 3 pints EP80 or 90. (You can get EP80/90 'multigrade' now)

That takes 11 litres or 19 pints.

(The 4.0 and the diesel autos each take 9.7 litres)

So to sum up you'll need

1.7 litres (EP80/90) in each diff
11 litres (ATF) in the gearbox
and
2.3 litres (ATF) in the transfer box (if you'r doing that too)

Remember the power assisted steering reservoir too - it also takes ATF.

yes the g/box might take 11 litres when new but when you drain the gearbox a lot stays in the torque convertor which cannot be drained, you only need about 5 litres i think it is if you are just changing the atf not 11 litres.
