Gearbox reconditioners.

I am in need of a LT77S gearbox complete with LT230 transfer box for my 1993 Disco 200Tdi, and I am looking at possibly a recon unit but they are fairly pricey and I want to make sure I am spending my hard earned in the right place.
Has anybody out there had a recon box fitted by either LEGS or Ashcroft Transmissions?
What was your experience of these companies?
Where they good value for money?
Has the recon unit lasted?
I would appreciate any feed back.
