Gearbox problems

Hello,
This is my first post, glad to have found you all
About 1 year ago my series 3 started to jump out of second gear when the power came off, and now suddenly with a clunk 2nd gear has gone all together. nothing, the gearstick happily goes to the right place but nothing happens.
I know this is a big ask but Can anybody tell me if this is mendable without gearbox removal/replacement ? or should I just live with it ?

afraid its gearbox out
no other way
but the good news is the parts are all avalible and not to pricy either

they got everything you need
im doing mine at the min gonna cost a little over £200 and thats needing gears and both shafts + other bits

i got a very rare series 2a fitted with an all syncro gearbox with is the same as a series 3

what i got was an anoying little clicking noise when in 3rd gear nice big heavey duty box so i thought i would just put up with it
after some time the little knock turned into a big rattle and lurching or the vehicle when in 3rd
took the box out and striped it down found that,
gears on the mainshaft had split 4 teeth off,
3rd gear on the lay shaft had split another 5 teeth,
the bush that 2nd and 3rd runs on has broken into 3 pieces,
the layshaft has worn badlly at the end where the bush runes against it,
some gear spacer shimes have broken up.

think thats about it
all the parts are avalible from that web site i listed
its gonna cost a little over £200 for everything

where are you from maybe somebody here can help if your not happy striping it yourself
