I am in Mongolia with My 1999 DHSE P38 Range Rover with problem with my gearbox that I posted in an earlier Thread (gearbox map changed) thanks for the replies.
I removed the valve block and cleaned out to make shure that the clutches were ok and no undue swarf in the sump and no sticky valves but I cleaned them out and reassembled the valve block and tested in the car and found that I only had 1st and reverse gear with no changes and I suspected I had the retainer clips in the wrong hole or the wrong way round so removed valve block again and obtained an exploded view of the valve block and found 2 clips incorrectly installed. Also checked all the valves again and found that according to the pictures I had one was in the wrong way round which surprised me as i was carful in the reassembly and did them one at a time. Changed it to correct way according to the manual that I have and refitted to car. Road tested the car and had all the gears again but still high changes BUT another fault reared its ugly head and that is the engine has to rev to engage reverse gear and it feels like it a slipping clutch. I suspect that I had the valve in the correct way round and the drawing is wrong. I cannot access the pit to work on the car for a few days but I wondered if anyone has an exploded view of the valve block? That they could email me so I could compare it with the one I have.
I will try to source a coolant sensor and fuel temp sensor as recommended by earlier answer to my earlier post.
I am also trying to source a second hand gearbox ECU part No UHC 100 140 if anyone know where I can get one please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice .
