Gearbox oil and level.

Hello all,

Just a quickie, I'm going to check the gearbox oil level on my 4.6HSE.
Is the filler on the passenger or drivers side and what oil is needed-dextron etc.

Steve,
Filler is towards the back and slightly towards the passenger side.
ATF Dextron 11D - total capacity 11.0 litres if doing a change.

If the box is a manual then you need
atf 94 ( which i struggled to find )

i am going to fit
4x4 Store

not cheap but suppose to be good and how often do you change the gearbox oil

Try mtf94.

adding my 2 cents. in my owner's manual it says dexron IID for manual gearbox and transfer box. in later versions of rave its changed to mtf94 for the gearbox and dexron III for transfer box. I follow my manual and have never had a problem. the shifts are smooth and car runs with little or no noise from drivetrain. i also use EP80W 90 GL5 in the final drives (diffs), slightly different from the 75W 90 in the manual but i won't tell if you don't.
