Hi Guys,

Recently joined the forum and looking for some advice regarding replacing my gearbox and transfer box (1995 300TDI). Got another box(and transfer box) coming soon and wondered what bits I might need for the refit and also what other jobs would be worth doing whilst it is in bits? Already had the clutch done 300 miles ago.

Any advice welcome

Thanks

fresh oil and dont seal between the two, weld a piece over pivot on release fork if not already, and what do you want for old ones if not seized up

Thank you for the reply - what do you mean dont seal between the two? Gear box not seized. transfer box is fine between hi and low but diff lock mechanism seized. (that was my next job). What are they worth bearing in mind carriage cost from Highlands to you will be in the order of £70. Was thinking in the region of £100 plus carriage on top, all reasonable offers considered.:fencing:
