Nanocom came up with "Torque Converter" fault. My local expert was saying that it was a gearbox fault and confused things. Obviously with the nanocom diagnostic and your advice it does seem like a torque converter problem. Anything I should be looking for or just a case of fitting a new one?
Could still be gearbox as the torque convertor lock up is controlled by the valve block in the autobox. However, before jumping to conclusions, you need to check the connections at the autobox ECU under the passenger seat for corrosion and the connection to the autobox itself together with any relevant earth connections.
