gearbag needed

Hello all, i'm afraid my rr gearbox is about to give up, its making funny noises, i changed all the fliuds in inc the diff's but noise still there, i think its the box cause when she's sitting ticking over its there, and when i press the clucth its goes away.
so does anyone out there have a box for a 2.5dse manual 1996???

Couild be yer DMF......... (Dual Mass Flywheel) that causing the trouble!!

Even if IT ISN'T the DMF I take a serious LONG LOOK at it while the gearbox is off !!!!

If the gearbox is working normally and the noise is there at idle, 10 to 1 it's the DMF as Claw says.

If it IS the DMF ..... DON'T go for a replacement ... WAAAAAAAYYYY toooo Expensive just weld the 2 halfs together & re-fit ............ PROBLEM SOLVED

I've done it on Transits that have covered MILLIONS of miles with it welded Data ... But Yeah .. You is correct on that !!!

Highly likely to be that total and utter abortion the DMF. But could be a very much less expensive clutch release bearing. DMFs are designed to reduce the load on engine and transmission in high gears at low RPM. Pity they are crap and fail much too often.

There are quite a few reports of Crankshaft failures on Tddi MK6 Trannies fitted with solid flywheels in place of the DMF

yu mean yu are F U C T if yu do and F U C T if you dont?

took the box out last night, its the first motion shaft. so need a box, think it will be handier for me to source one here in ireland instead off paying high transit charges to ship one over to me.
