Gear stick gaiter!

The gaiter around my gearstick on my 110 had gone hard and every time I changed gear it came out so I thought I would order a new one.
New one arrived in "the blue bag" and although much softer it just doesn't seem to fit very well it seems a bit too long.
My questions are:-
Is it one size fits all on 110's and Defenders?
Are there supposed to be any clips or anything that holds it in around the bottom edges and if so anyone got a part number
Stupid problem I know but it's annoying me now and I am just tempted to get the silicone out!

My 90 had a couple of cable ties around it to hold it in place

How would cable tie work as the rubber gaiter fits "inside" the metal flange in the tunnel?
Am I missing something here?

I have just thought I have soundproof mat over my tunnel and where as I am trying to fit the gaiter down the hole it possibly should fit over the lip if there is one covered by the soundproofing........may have just solved it with your help, I will look tonight.
Now I'm feeling stupid :-(

It goes outside the flange.

Not sure how yours is fitted,

Mine goes on the outside at the base, it used to pop off, so I used a cable ite or two to hold it on place. But last time I had to remove the gaiter , I cut the cable ties and it has gone back and sits quite happily without cable ties.
