Gear Selector LED's intermittant

Only had my Disco a week and already problems, both air springs have needed to be replaced.:doh:
Now the LED indicators on the Gear Selector are not showing after driving a few miles, OK at first, gears seem to select properly.
Be grateful for any suggestions as to what may be causing this.

Tap them and see if they come on.

The display on the dash does not show the gear selected when the LED's are not lit.
If I waggle the selector stick about a bit both LED's and dash display come back briefly only to vanish again in a few seconds.
This problem does not happen until the car has covered a few miles & warmed up a bit, untill then all is OK.
It does not seem to affect gear selection, changes seem OK.
Appreciate any helpful advice
