gear lever

Hi only had my disco a few weeks and really enjoying it think ive been converted i have a few plans for it but first i want to get it up together.
The first problem to sort out is the rattle from gear lever its driving me mad , the gear box changes fine no unsual noises just lever rattling so if any of you guys can help i would be much appreciated thanks ps its a 94 300tdi
