Gear box problem

After 30 mins of driving I struggle up hills doesn't want to kick down feather pedal just get it into top but doesn't seem to lock up move into neutral full rev range, it is fine for 1st 30 mins or so but after it slows right down on hills not wanting to use lower gears at round abouts sluggish to pull away pull over let it cool for 20 mins back as normal it may be a coincidence bit it seemed to happen after I power washed the engine bay it was full of mud after being swamped on an off road day, I have removed and cleaned all rads intercooler it's run it without air filter 30 mins still the same flush and refilled the auto gearbox all hubs are not hot when this happens the transmission brake is correctly adjusted, it was mentioned possible head gasket but engine runs fine seems to get a bit hot 3/4 after the gearbox not locking up or dropping down gears kicks in any ideas. You didn't say it was a D1 so I kind of supposed it was a D2, but even if it is a D1, if it is auto and EDC the same MAY apply. @sierrafery will probably know, I am not in his league at all when it comes to electronics but I have had a similar problem with my D2 and it was mechanical so I was able to fix it.

I'll induce the fault again now to be more detailed
 
If trying to bomb up a hill induces it, or trying to accelerate hard on the flat induces it, but normal driving is restored after the switch off switch on thing let us know.
 
Sorry to hear this, hope the new batt gets you back home.
Once there have a look at everything to do with the waste-gate, but it would appear your problem is more serious than that.
