This is my first post!
Although I have read many other posts about gear box problems with the l322 I haven't found anything that quite relates to the problems i have been experiencing.
I've had my gear box re-furbished 6 months ago and it's still under warranty.
After 1 month of using the newly re-furbished box, i had a transmission fault code come up after a very violent gear change. The fault on the dash was "Transmission Failsafe". After limping back to transmission repairs garage the mechanics replaced the gearbox seals and told me that the seals had failed and most of the fluid had escaped!
I've been driving the car for another 4 months with no problems until recently, i've found that when changing gear from 2nd to 3rd at 2000rpm there is a slight bump. One of the mechanics at the transmissions garage printed off a diagnostics report. One of the codes "Electric Thermostat Circuit Fault" could be forcing the gearbox to overheat the mechanic said.
It may also be useful if I mention that the gear change bump fault does not occur until the car has warmed up, and I have also just recently replaced the header tank due to a crack and the thermostat.
Answers on a postcard!!!
Any help welcome,
Thanks Guys.
