Hey guys! I’m having a minor gear box issue with my p38 and a mate of mine has a nanocom. We bought the necessary licenses for the gems system but for some reason we’re having difficulty getting it to connect to try and reset the gearbox. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Cheers!

There is nothing to reset apart from fault codes. What year is your car and what engine? Later petrol cars have a different auto box ECU to diesels and early petrols.

According to RAVE the auto box ECU diagnostic connection is via the BECM. There doesn't seem to be any direct link to the diag port in RAVE.

I cannot find any option in Nanocom to set the box for 4.0 or 4.6 or petrol / diesel. There are different ECU part numbers, so either programmed in factory, or perhaps the BECM does the engine type & capacity selection ? There are settings in BECM for the engine type.

According to the Nanocom coverage guide, it selects the Auto ECU type depending on what engine type you select in the previous menu !!
